Hello, my beardie lost his toe a month ago. I called several vets and they didn't direct me to bring him in. The regular reptile vet I have been seeing told me to clean it and give him epsom salt soaks. I think it looks pretty good now and am wondering if I need to continue with treatment. I'm not a vet but it doesn't look infected.

Is this a current picture?
I would put some raw unpasteurized honey on it -- it looks scabbed over which is good - the honey will promote healing - please do not put crickets in the tank to feed - they will go straight for the toe - and I would stop w/ the epsom salt baths as well - just use the honey

Yes I this photo was taken this morning. I have been using a chlorhexidine soap to clean it, then I put antibiotic pain relief ointment on it. Been doing it for a month now. Should I just use honey on it now and stop with the chlorhexidine soap? How long should I do this for? Thank you for your time.

It looks pretty good, maybe a little irritation at the tip but in general it looks O.K. Just keep an eye and if it gets worse you can resume the treatments.
I am asking about the honey-- its normally recommended for infections but it doesnt look infected - normally they are black if infection sets in -- let me check w/ the honey tho
ok this is what she said about the honey
Good idea, unpasteurized honey is the best IMO, just keep the enclosure clean and no loose insects.
I would give a couple of good doses of the honey but it looks to be on the mend -- use it raw and dab on w/ a Q tip
