Is my boy a tiger? Google image search gives photos of better stripes but also somehow like these. He was sold as a tiger but I'd like to know is this only a bad tiger or something else?

There are different opinions on what a tiger is, Tammy from Draggintails b.d.'s had a long run of breeding tigers but today if your dragon looks like a tiger there's nothing wrong with calling it a tiger.
