Hi
My beardy is about 4 months old. We keep the tank in the family room so he can see us. 3 boys 1 dog. Chaotic.
When and How should we introduce our bd to the dog. The bd
can see our dog. The dog doesn't pay too much attention to the dragon but really interested in the crickets. The dog is about 50lbs and is an Australian Blue Heeler.
I keep thinking what if this or that happens and over analyze it.

Thanks

I have 3 cats and one of them was really interested in the bearded dragons. As soon as Dexter, my oldest beardie was able to be handled out of her tank, meaning she would sit in my hand without running away, I started to introduce her to the cats. She was probably about 5 months old. I would take her out of the tank and I would take her around to each of the cats and let them smell her. Eventually I would put Dexter on the floor and let the cats come to her and investigate. I only had one incident where one of the cats grabbed for Dexter's tail but it was only one time. Now we are to the point where I can bring Dexter into a room with the cats and they don't even bat an eye. I am still cautious with them but now I don't worry too much.

It all depends too on the temperament of your dog and of your beardie. It sounds like the dog won't care too much about him if he's not around the crickets. In my situation, Dexter is very lazy and would rather sit and watch tv than run around the house and my cats are 10,14 and 15 so they would rather sleep most of the time!

My beardy is about 4 months old? 9 inches. He/she is still squirm in my hands but will climb all over me. We let him run around the family room and he pretty much runs around until he gets cold snd than he will cuddle up with me to warm up and then just passes out asleep. He does like to sit on my arm or shoulder and look at me for awhile. So I guess he or she is more active? the dog is a spaz but he is afraid of cats (he was attacked by a mommy cat).
I was hoping if Perry went to bite or scare the dog then the dog will give o Perry space.
