Hi guys my beardie seems to be holding its head up as shown in the picture. I first noticed it last night when the lights were out and could see it not laying flat like usual and basicay standing up to sleep with head raised. Still doing it this morning, is it anything for concern?

From what I saw yes, was like that all night. I believe it's calcium sand. Have always had these type of substrate and never had an issue before. Only bulbs I've got is the heat plus uv. Can't remember size of the cage but again had it for years and not had any problems. Beard tends to always be that colour and on some occasions got a little darker.

Just came home to find asleep like normal and not got its head up in the air, so hopefully the issue has resolved during the day. However will work on the changes.

UVB 150
Temp gets about 90/100 over the day, monitored by stick on thermometer on the back wall.
Got heat mat under the sand during the nights, which gets layed on when it gets cold.

The bulb is exoterra, it's a coil. I'll post a pic. Okay that's fine I'll look into getting those, I'm from the UK so will see wheres the best place here to get them. That's fine shall get rid of that, it's what came with my set up when I got it. I know when it's been cold they go and lay down on on the heat mat but will do as you say. The uv is located inside the tank on the far left and basking on the far right

Roughly 36inchs length, 19inches depth and 21 height. What's the fixture I would need to get to house that bulb?

He was like this all nite? What kind of substrate do you have him on? If its anything loose it is not recommended -- too risky for impaction --- what size tank do you have? You can get some textured non adhesive shelf liner from your local home improvement store or slated ceramic tile as well - both are cheap easy to clean and insects cant get underneath---- if you have any colored bulbs in the tank you need to get rid of them as well -- they care harmful to the dragons eyes and can cause long term eye damage-- His beard is not real black but I would keep an eye on that beard -- if it gets any blacker it could mean lots of different things --- then we would need to narrow it down as to why

I can only recommend the sand is not good ---the only way to help is to give me a rundown of your husbandry --- what kind of UVB your using basking temps and how your taking them-- if you like post a pic of your tank and lighting and we can go from there ---
