We are new bearded dragon owners. We got a dragon who’s about a year old about a month ago. We wanted to build him a nice enclosure so we looked at lots of things on line. We bought an old entertainment center and made it over. We saw where people sometimes use expanding foam as a background, grout over it and seal it. After reading numerous articles we decided to seal the foam and bottom of the cage (under tile in case liquid leaked under the tile) with polycrylic. It’s been over a week now and it still seems to have a smell from the polycrylic. (We haven’t put our little guy in there yet, he’s still in an aquarium). Any ideas on how to get the smell out? We placed a fan in front of it to circulate air through it for a couple of days and set it outside for part of the day, but there’s still a smell of fumes. I definitely don’t want to put our dragon in there until the smell is gone.

This is the first time I've heard of polycrylic still having an odor after a week. How humid and the temperature can affect the curing time. Try reading the back of the can to find the optimal humidity and temperature.
