Hello

My beardie was born on May 22 and I have had him since July 10. So he is a little over 2 months and 15 days. He is 6inches long..give or take a few centimeters...

I still have him in the 20 gal tank. Havent moved to the 40 gal yet.
*Should I wait for him to get bigger?
*Is there a MYTH about the size of the tank that they wont grow?
*I see other Beardies and they are HUGE...is my guy just itty bitty? Maybe?
*All Bearded Dragons are different and is that in EVERY aspect of them? Food, DIet, Growth, Health, Temperament, Personality, etc.

They are going to grow whether they are in a 20 or a 40 gallon tank as long as they have the proper lights and gradients set up. A dragon in a 20 g tank it's whole life might not be the same size as one that was in a bigger tank because as the dragon gets bigger, it's a lot harder to provide proper temp gradients and places to hide.

The best thing to do is to start taking measurements and keeping track of them. It's the only way you are going to be able to know for sure if he is growing or if there is a problem. It's really helpful to do this with the little ones and it's fun to watch their growth.

Got it. Thanks so much. Im planning to buy a scale to weigh him and I measure him every other week or so. Thanks for the input. Planning to put him in the 40 gal next week.
