To bad
So i unboxed my big breeders. I have some question.

1: How humid?
2:DO i just stick the heat pad to the side with the tape stuff it comes with?
3: I saw a freaking baby climbing up the wall a bit??? Will it be able to escape?
I dont know much but if you think they might escape it think you can put baby powder in the walls and they will slide down. That is what people do with ants

What breed of roaches did u get? I keep mine around 60-75% , heat pad placement can be tricky, you dont want them to get over heated, the babies will climb but they’ll want to stay in the bin, if a couple escape dont worry they wont infest ur house, be shure to offer fresh veg to them, the female roaches need protein to produce bebes, the water crystals expand like 20x (just add water) dont use em all

Ok, the heat pad is on the side. But the heat pad itself doesn't get very hot.... the ambient air is only like 74 degrees F. The humidity is 36-40%. Saying this do i need to get another heat source? I have dubia roaches. 20 females and 6 males ( 4 came dead) I figured out the water crystals. WHat kind of veggies? It came with roach chow.

What all are you doing to care for them show me pics of the bin and we’ll go from there, i keep mine in a large bin I probably have 200? Im about to have a boom aswell 100 of those are about to molt to their adult selves, i offer very basic veggies, carrot , potato (this previously sprouted in the bin and i left it in there) romaine lettuce, broccoli (for its proteins) , be cautious adding fruit, they mold quickly (You do not want mold) , i have sand about half an inch on one side of the bin and i mist there (dont mist the cardboard they climb on-mold) on the other side i have 2 inches of sterile dirt from a package, egg crates, toilet paper/paper towel rolls and any other cardboard i can get(they eat the glue in the layers they love it) i put all of these in kinda a lean-to type style up against the wall , i put all the food in a dish underneath the structure, check the food every day and remove any nasty bits left over and remove dead roaches aswell.

So this is my roach bin, this morning i opted to take out the water dish as i only had 1 food dish and i put the water crystals along with the veg in it, (they get their water from the sand side, this morning they got romaine lettuce, two different kinds of potato, celery cranberries as a treat, their roach chow , two pieces of dog food and a dog cookie(for protein) .

Ok, i have egg crates (3) Some food scattered on the floor the the enclosure though they dont seem to be eating it. Its the roach chow. It kinda acts like soil. One of the females had babies in it. i have water crystals put in a little cardboard thing. I did mist the egg crates, Saying this do i need sand or soil in there? Another roach died this time female

Its likely you did have some older studs that were out of their prime but your females should not be dying, I would try to replicate my setup as close as you can, no you dont need soil for your type of roaches (but you could still do sand/perlite/vermiculite) (i have discoid) im doing a bioactive setup for mine with other bugs aswell. Keep the water crystals in a bottle cap or something with a lip, and keep them juicy.
