Hey everyone, been a while since I've been on.. This forum taught me everything I know about how to care for my boy & he's grown up healthy & happy. I've gone through 3 different enclosures since I've been on here & even his current setup, which he really seems to like, has evolved alot since I 1st got this tank. I've managed to give him 3 levels & a variety of platforms & hides. He uses them all and is alot more active since I added the 2 new "hammock" things.. It's kind of like a small jungle gym. Once in a while I will take him out & put hornworms all around the tank like an Easter egg hunt & he runs/jumps/climbs to his surprises.
Anyway, just wanted to hear your input if you see anything I may have overlooked. His temps are 91-95°F on the warm side (105-108 at basking spot) 83-85 on the cool side. He has a small blanket that is always in his favorite hide on the right side.. But I'm washing it right now.. & his bird bed on the left.. (the green fluffy thing) he loves to lay on that. I used slate tile for the floor & for his little platform & his nails stay filed thanks to the slate. What do you think?

That is amazing!!!!! I love it! I want to move in! [emoji4] Seriously it is really cool. I love the hornworm Easter egg hunt, how cute is that. Next time maybe take a video so I can see? Lol

If he's an older beardie what I've heard is they can have a lower temp basking spot. Say 95-100 so maybe check on that with other people to make sure before changing anything. Other than that it looks perfect!

Thank you for sharing. I wish I could make something like that for my Wally!

Oh ok.. I have a 75 watt zoo med bulb in there right now & I cant adjust the height of the bulb.. I can only move the basking spot further away or go with a 50 watt bulb.. Think 50 watts is enough?

I'm not sure. What you can do is put the 50 watt in and check the temps after 10-20 minutes and see what they are. If that doesn't work then raise the 75 watt and see what those temps are. Sorry I'm not much help. [emoji20]

Ok so I made some changes today. I got him a 50 watt bulb & while I was at petsmart I was looking at something & i set him down on this cat ramp/scratch thing & he looked pretty content on it. When I tried to pick him up to leave, he scrambled to get back to it. So I got it. & had to rearrange some things to fit it in. So now his ramp/looking perch is on the left side & his 2nd level walkway goes around the entire enclosure now. This made his main hide move to the left side now & the cat ramp created a larger hide on the right & a 2nd viewing perch for him. It was also big enough to cut his bird bed & spread it out completely so he has a luxury love cave for the ladies.. He's upset right now because I changed his home he's letting me know lol. He's been exploring every corner for an hr now.

Love it!! really is beardie specific you'll know the heat is good when they gap, just watching where they spend their time and adjust a few degree's up and down to see where they like it.

It looks really good. I like that cat post. Really nice touch!

Can I ask, how big is the enclosure? Did you make that yourself? I'm in love with it. I really want one for Wally. It is really beautiful. I'm sure Iggy will be okay with the new changes in a day or so.

Thanks everyone! I love to decorate his enclosure. Tried to keep it simple but not so he would get bored.. He was so mad when I put his 2 new hammocks in but he loves them now. The 2 major changes now are his main hide being on the other side & that hide is now cramping his poop spot.. So I hope he doesn't pick a new bathroom, the area he goes now is so convenient lol. the temperatures came down nice. Basking was 98-102.. The enclosure is 39"long x 23"deep x 20" high. I got it from coldbloodedenclosures.. But I wanted another one a while back & their site is no longer up.

Must be nice to have a poop spot! Wally just poops on his hammock, lazy boy! Lol

That is a really nice enclosure. Too bad they went out of business, I'm guessing.

Just like with the 2 hammocks he will get used to the cat post and his new set up in time.

Fingers are crossed that he keeps pooping in the same spot for ya!

Thanks again for sharing the pictures.

Iggys being a lazy boy today.. See that section of wall in between the 2 vents? When he is on his walkway & jumps up to his wood, he uses the wall for leverage, & since there's no texture for him to grab on he slips & i hear him scratching & scratching the wall trying to get up there. So I saw a woven placemat that matches his hammocks & cat ramp & it fits perfectly in that section of wall.. What would be safe to use to glue it to the wall? That wouldn't get weaker with the heat & wouldn't put out fumes?

Silicon sealant is perfect for use in terrariums, vivariums, and aquariums. Particularly the kind used in a glue gun/caulk gun. Hope that helps.

just to add to this: from my custom aquarium mods back in the day, make sure to pick up silicon that isnt quick dry, mold resistant, fancy extras ect. At least in aquariums, it is more of a problem of chemicals leaching into the water.

Hey everyone, I was just looking at old posts & I saw this version of iggys tank. I actually just added a few things today & I got no complaints from him this time. I went to home depot and got 6 small bricks & 2 slate square foot tiles. I made a platform & hide on both sides of his tank & he still has his jungle gym up top. I picked up a dragon bed on etsy a while back. He didn't like the stand but he loves the fabric & pillows. Here are some updated pics of his enclosure.
