Hello everyone, I don’t know if anyone remembers my previous post where I’d bought 2 dragons and the one who was meant to be male laid eggs the night I bought her home?
Anyway, woke up this morning to this (egg was still full and round last night so nice shock)
Any idea how long before it should fully hatch please? This is a lone egg so should I still leave it 24-48 hours in the incubator before removing it to its new viv?
thanks in advance.

Oh how sweet! Yes I remember ur original post :) leave him be to struggle out of the egg, after hes been out for a couple hours then move him into a tub with paper towels as substrate.

Should I put that tub with paper towels into the incubator or into the viv? I’ve read conflicting info online and you are the boss as knowing your stuff. Thank you.

The main reason to leave them in the incubator is so they can move over the other eggs to induce spawning (since hes a only child, theres not much reason to keep him in it, but ill leave that to you) in the wild they’d dry out and be on their way, they wouldn’t stick around 24 hours.

If ur unshure, cause yea every website says 24 hours, just leave him in it wont hurt nothing, (for me personally ive taken new borns out as soon as their heads pop)

Baby vittikins fully born approx 10hours ago. Just waiting for him to start moving around then I’ll be moving him viv.
Sorry another question tho, I saw a couple of YouTube videos where they bath the hatchling to clean them up.... as you see mine is quite messy- could I bath it once it becomes active? If not how long before I can?

Also, I’m a bit concerned because I can’t find anything to say if it’s normal or not but is the tail meant to be like that on a fresh hatchling or is it a bad sign? Bit worried now

Tails normal, they gotta fit somehow, after hes dry, (probably by now) run some bottled water over him (idk what kind of water u guys have) and he should be good to go :)

Make shure his first meal is a good one, have the bug be heavily gut loaded with veggies

Try not to read into his behaviors so much, he’ll act weird for a little bit, by day two out of the egg he should be running around acting normal.

He looks okay , just give him some time, make shure his enclosure is nice and warm, and give him things to hide under if he so chooses, the egg came from the smaller bearded dragon right? That was the female?

He’s a vittikins. The mum is a rankins and dad is a beardie.
I’ve popped him into a viv, t5 ubv... basking bulb.... log, a bit of moist paper towel in one corner and a towel along the bottom (although I’ll replace that with newspaper when I go shop in an hour or so). He has a hammock and a log in the viv I also have a small hide but the reptile specialist told me not to keep that in because it can hide there and get sick?

Did he say why itd get sick? I dont understand how that could happen, unless it were to hide for 3 days straight, not getting uv…
