Hi I am looking for some advise my son's female beardie has been very lethargic for the last couple of days and she doesn't seem to want to open her eyes. She is able to open them but seems like she doesn't want to. She opened them straight away when we gave her her locust but then closed them straight away again afterwards. Usually when she is being handled she's really wriggly but today she's just completely still she's also a little darker than usual. Her temps are fine and she's going to toilet regularly. Any advice please

Do you have uv light? Do you dust her insects with calcium?
How is her enclosure?
Maybe with more info someone can help you.

Hi yes we have a uv light it is Arcadia D3 10% compact it has been changed only a couple of days ago as her other was 6 months old.( its the exact same make and strength as her previous light could it still be causing this problem?)
Her insects are dusted with nutrobol and her veg is dusted with calcium
Her basking light temp is 100-110 farenheight depending on how warm a day it is her cool end is around 80% farenheight. We use silica free play sand as a substrate .

We'll need much more info than that in order to speculate if there are any issues. Like age, how long it has been in your care, size of enclosure, for instance. Pics of your setup, showing the lighting orientation in relation to the rest of the setup & as much accurate info about your husbandry, diet, day/night schedule, type of thermometer used to take the temps & exactly where they are measured from, etc, etc, as much info as you can provide. The more you provide, the more helpful & accurate the help/advice will be.

We have had her about 8 months. And we were told she was two when we had her.She has part of her tail missing and apparently it has been this way since she was a baby
Her enclosure is 4ft x 2ft x 2ft
Basking temp is taken using digital thermometer placed on her rock directly under basking light cool end temp is measured using a digital thermometre attached to the wall of her viv down cool end. She is fed veg daily with kale being her staple but she usually has either some carrot, squash, watercress with it and occasional fruit. She is fed live food every other day and has locust .She is given fresh water daily but rarely drinks it so we usually mist her daily and bathe her once weekly. Her lights are put on at 9am and go out at 9pm. As I mentioned previously her uv light is an Arcadia d3 10% placed about half way down her viv and was changed a few days ago. Her basking light is a white spot lamp.

Brumation is a definite possibility ... But it is not uncommon for BDs to periodically have some off days. Keep an eye on her & keep us posted.

The lighting & Basking spot should be set up in such a way that, both the center portion of the UVB Bulb & the basking Bulb cover the the basking spot. Very little effective strength UVB is emitted from the end portions of a UVB tube type Bulb. The UVB must cover the basking area, as that is where it should spend the majority of it's time & is in most setups, the only place that the BD can get close enough to to the UVB bulb to be effective, If mounted above the screen, the Basking spot needs to be within 8-10" from the center portion of the UVB bulb to be effective. UVB bulbs have a very limited effective range (Does not reach as far as the visible light does.), that dissipates quickly as the bulb ages & why they must be regularly replaced. When mounted above the screen, in most enclosures, useable, effective strength UVB will never reach the floor area.

Please post pics ...

Hi, can you please post pictures of the dragon and enclosure? Are her eyes closed the whole time the lights are on and only open when you enter the cage?

Just my initial thoughts but it is truly just a guess as i dont know many of the particulars of this dragon. Lets hope she is not impacted.
