Bearded Dragon Recovery Story

Hey guys, this is my first post here but I have a story I wanted to share. My beardie Puff was really sick for the past 4 days, with something the vet couldn't figure out. After bloodwork, x-rays, and other tests they couldn't find anything wrong. He was incredibly lethargic, to the point where the vet thought he could be paralyzed. His eyes were always closed, and he was really sedated for whatever reason. It didn't look good, and we almost took him to a 24/7 hospital for pets at the University of Tennessee. The vet called a few other specialists for a consult, and the only theory they had was that he ate something toxic and had to metabolize it out . We have no idea what he ate, but whatever it was it made him really sick and we were so worried. It was hard to have to wait days for him to metabolize it, especially when he was breathing at such a slow rate, we had a lot of sleepless nights. After 4 days of rest, care, and hydration therapy he has made a great recovery. We are so thankful for the help we received along the way. When I took him in today for another checkup and hydration therapy the whole animal hospital was so excited to see him active, running, and with his eyes wide open. I wanted to share this story because a lot of advice on these forums was super helpful. I am forever grateful for the recovery he has made and that I get more years with him.

Do you have fire flies in your area? They are toxic for Beardies.
I know this sounds silly but could it be brumation?

Yes we do have fire flies in the area, that is also a possibility. I remember reading online they are super toxic to beardies and can kill within a few hours, although Puff is quite large for a beardie so he could've eaten a small fire fly and survived. Brumation was also what I thought at first until the vet checked on him and said he must've eaten something.
