Depends on the age of the dragon and if your getting correct surface basking temps - analogs are incorrect - you want a digital probe thermometer- placed on the spot where he basks

Ok please get 2 digital probe thermometers for your tank - one for basking surface temps one for your cool side- IR guns are good but they cannot read off certain materials- example hammocks- and certain slate rocks - for a adult dragon they do not like real hot temps-- 95-100
