Well, that time has come, time to blow the dust off my wallet and replace my UV tubes. I must admit I have cut it close, they are almost exactly 1 year old now and at the end of their useful life, even though they still look like they are working ok. I use 34 inch Arcadia t5 12% tubes because they are the best you can buy and my vivs are pretty big so need a lot of light. At least I thought they were the best, but now I have discovered a 14% version! I know, you're thinking 'what difference will the extra 2% possibly make?' , but bear in mind its not only more UVB but increased UVA as well. I think the more lumens of that good stuff the better, here take a look at the specs yourself:

A price increase came with those extra lumens , but after a good search I managed to find some at the same price as the old model on Ebay , so I have ordered a couple and shall see if they are actually worth making a fuss about. I have come to trust Arcadia though, those guys know their stuff and seem to care about reptile health. Their lights are manufactured in Germany and solid quality. The only downside is they are double the price of other tubes, but I think you pay for quality, it doesn't bother me.
Has anyone had any experience with this particular tube? if so, what did you think?
