Air fresheners

I am wondering if using air fresheners around beardies is a bad thing. I've been told not use them not even the plug in kind. I have 2 beardies in the same room and sometimes when they poop it can smell kind of nasty. I was thinking of buying a plug in air freshener for the room but dont want to take the risk if it is not advised.

I am not sure I have used the glade solids sitting on top of my computer table and it never seem to effect them
