Hello, what fixture do you have, is it a T5, T8, etc? Also are you wanting my recommendations for just a UVB bulb or a UVB bulb and a basking bulb?

It depends on where you live, the temperature of your house, and the season. I use a 50 Watt but most people use higher wattage, it just depends. This is a chart of what you want the temperature to be
  • Basking Temp = 105° - 115° degrees Fahrenheit (41° C)
  • Overall Temp = 90° degrees Fahrenheit (32° C)
  • Cool Side = 70° – 80° degrees Fahrenheit (21° – 29° C)
  • Nighttime = 65° – 70° degrees Fahrenheit (18° – 21° C)

the usb doesn’t heat ur tank. Get several size basking lamps. It’s important to have a spare anyway. Put one in, use several thermometers one on each end minimum. Then get ur tank as close to the numbers that Silver posted. Also keep track of the humidity. Ur going to find u probably need a different wattage at different times of the yr

I recommend getting a digital probe thermometer to get accurate basking temps- set the probe on the basking spot wait 10 minutes then get the temp

I'd recommend getting a 60-75 watt halogen flood lamp on a dimmer so you can adjust the temps as necessary. Halogen bulbs last much longer than the reptile specific basking bulbs anyways and are a bit cheaper. i get mine from kroger as most of the big box and hardware stores have all moved to led lights
