18 inches of glass top in middle of vivarium

And there is 15inches on both sides of the tank has the steel screen. Can I just use a 4ft UVB t5 lamp even though there is the glass in the middle?

Can’t see why not. You’ll lose a bit of uv, but what’s the alternative? Remove the glass and replace with mesh or use two shorter lights each end. I’m no expert, but I reckon you’ll be ok.

If you have a UVB bulb that spans the whole length of the tank then I would think it would be fine.

It was working great but im a dummy I was cleaning out the tank and I put the Che on the glass for about 10 minutes and then...

I have him in a plastic bin for now I just didn’t think it would get that hot. I’m just glad I was home to be able to notice it, I only had it on for 10 minutes while setting it up
