Hey! so I've begun ordering bulk, 500 crickets a month to feed the gang. Problem is, towards the end that bin smells disgusting! I don't imagine it's very clean either, but it's tough to clean with 500 crickets in there. I remove all food daily, but the stench remains.
Any tips? Here's my setup.
Mounting it from the screen would work if my cage lid wasn’t like this lol.
But it’s mounted as close as you can get to that.
I’ll look into the reflector and getting another mount if i can find one that’s affordable!
The bulb is a T8, it's from Zilla. I still don't know what a reflector is, or what it would look like. The mount I have the bulb in is from Home depot and it's got a backing to it. If that's not enough I'll have to see what I can find that's affordable.
I've pretty much checked out all of those...
Pancake's lab results returned, she tested positive for two types of parasites. (Can't remember which, the guy talked super fast.) So, I've picked up the meds the vet prescribed, once those are don it'll be another $38 lab fee (ugh) to be sure they're gone. No way to know how she picked these...
She's about five months old now, should I still be feeding her daily? She gets ten crickets a day. Prior to that I was feeding her as much as she would eat in 15 mins but that seemed to be causing her to get bloated and constipated.
I've heard withholding food can be a way to get them to try...
So hey, it's me again. The one with the juvie beardie who refuses greens.
I want to try worms in the bowl to entice her, is there any marked difference in nutrient quality between these two? I don't intend to use them as her staple, but I'd like to know how often I can offer either so I can get...
They can have waxworms? i'll definitely get some of those. i tried feeding her mealworms but they caused her to get bloated and have trouble pooping.
i'll get her poop tested soon as she poops again....i've got a vet all my babies go to. thanks for all your help! :)
I think it’s correct? I mean, I got it at home depot.
Her poops actually stink to high heaven, they’re a little loose though I’ve only gotten her to poop recently by doing warm soaks.
Yeah, I offer fresh mixes daily with a wide variety of greens and veggies and fruit. I’ve offered collared...
It's got a backing to it if that's what you mean. And her basking spot varies, she's always in different parts of the tank. Usually sleeps at the very top right under where the fixture is at.
I got a T8 and a mount from Home Depot, it's inside the cage so she'll get good exposure.
I've still got to figure out how to get her to eat greens....I'll keep updating as we go.
