Dart frogs are a lot of fun actually! They don't grow large and in captivity they aren't toxic at all since they don't have access to the insects they would eat in the wild that make them so. They like tiny food and fruit flies are a great staple as are pinhead crickets if available. You just...

Thanks Nero! It was certainly a lucky break to find one there. It can be hard to find them in stock online and it took me a while to choose the right setup for one. I definitely wish you great luck in building your own terrarium collection. There is so much variety to choose from and it's always...

Thanks Yvonne G! I certainly have considered an African pancake tortoise. I like them a lot and I've even heard they have a much more manageable lifespan than other tortoises that live into their 80s or more.

Two updates guys! First of all, very unfortunately, Yuma, my common collared lizard, passed away on the 7th after an unexpected and sudden accident in his tank. For some reason I don't quite understand and had never been a problem before, he out of the blue tried to eat a big clump of substrate...

    Almost complete!

Hi there everybody! With the exception of another chameleon since mine passed away in 2015, and 2 more dart frogs and a small possibility of an Ackie monitor (I'll probably wait until my bearded dragon passes away though for that one) And some occasional small things like mantises and other...

    Wild bretheren

Whats up guys? You know I've been thinking a lot about wild bearded dragons and how they live. Speaking of which, there's of course a couple species of bearded dragons and the most common in captivity is obviously the central/inland bearded dragon or pogona vitticeps but have any of you guys...

    Talking reason

I was certainly thinking that for the most part that's the best course of action. Maybe she'll warm up to the idea eventually but for now I could probably just get a corn snake or any number of species that don't have the same muscle mass as a ball python.

Sorry about some grammar mistakes. For some bizarre reason I can't edit this after 5 minutes.

    Talking reason

Hey guys! As no doubt most of us have experience with several types of terrarium animals I have a weird request for you guys and that's to help me reassure my Mom she has nothing to worry about. You know, get some outside input. I have a ton of terrarium animals and although I don't see myself...

Genius! The bathtub would be a very good idea and well worth a try along with everything else! Man I do not know how I survive winter every year haha.

Thanks Hdrydr31! I've often considered a generator but the only portable ones I saw when I looked them up the other day were gas powered and I feel like that would unsafe inside the house. Are there non gas powered ones and if so are they expensive? How long do they run?

Thanks Tabasco! Heat packs outside the tank are also a great idea! I'm going to start looking around for generator options too!

True, you would probably have to use a charcoal grill or something to heat a water bottle and then let it cool a little or just pray the power comes back soon and rely on the hand warmers.

Thanks Janelle! Those are all good ideas and as a last resort I probably would end up finding pillow cases or something similar to put them in and just sit with them for a little while or at least find some containers and put the most vulnerable ones in the closet where it would at the very...
