Congrats on your new beardie; a few pieces of advice; The Beardie needs to be at least 10 inches away from the UVB strip; he looks way to close: so make sure he’s at least 10 inches or more away. Also this UVB needs replacing every 6Mnths; make sure it’s the Reptisun 10.0 T5; the 5.0 emits little to NO uvb. Also, replace the humidity dial & thermometer dial with a digital one; those are the most accurate & get a infrared gun from Home Depot to aim on the basking spot to get total accuracy. Also get him a basking platform; petco & Petsmart have good ones. Feed lots of protein at this age; crickets & Dubia roaches are the best & safest & sprinkle REPCAL calcium powder get the one from petco lightly sprinkle like salt on fries & shake it in a ziplock do the calcium once per day 5times/week and once per week on a non calcium day give herptivite vitamin powder. When he turns 9mtnhs or so lower the calcium to 3-4 times a week & keep the herptivite as is; once per week. Feed the proteins 4-5 times a day in 10min increments and feed till he stops eating alongside the plate of greens/veggies. Don’t only do greens; he needs veggies too; mix up 2-3 veggies/greens while he is little otherwise he will never eat them as an adult. The best everyday ones are: mustard greens, collard greens, dandelions, yellow squash ( has lots of calcium), butternut squash, green beans and snap peas. When he turns 4mnths do the proteins 3times/day & at 9mnths; crickets/proteins twice a day and after a year old once per day or every other day like 10-20 crickets. Never do meal worms they impact them. After a year old u can introduce superworms as treats. U can do fruits as an added treat a few times a week; blueberries, mangoes and papaya are great ones, but in moderation coz sugar is bad for them. Lastly as he gets older the temp they prefer is 95-97 once they reach 9mnths and older. Remember baths twice over week in dechlorinated water for 15min min; u can buy reptisafe to place on the water. Also mist him a few times a day with dechlorinated water as well.

Thanks again for the time and advice you've given me Julee!

I replied to your advice in the post I had left in the forums.

On the other stuff you mention here:
  • I have been dusting calcium and multi as recommended,
  • Sadly I am limited to the feeders where I live (no dubia roaches). Pretty much crickets, mealworms, bsfl, hornworms and waxworms.
    • I've limited the live feeders to the crickets and bsfl, since hornworms are too big for him, I was told about the mealworms causing impaction so stopped that, and tried bsfl but he doesn't seem to take/like them. Not a fan of waxworm either, although he's eaten one - I just know they are high in fat, so wouldn't be regular anyhoo... In short, mostly crickets, dusting as needed/recommended.
  • Veggies, I continue to provide, since I expect the diet to change over time and I always want it to be an available option.
  • I do change the veggies out, providing some variety (squash, dandelion, red chard, shredded carrot, and a little fruit, not too much due to sugar though - like strawberry, mango, etc).
Again, on the lighting heating, I responded to your advice in my post, and thank you for that - very valuable information and most appreciated! I'm going out today to get a clear ZooMed bulb and a basking rock to swap for the taller piece he climbs on.

I'll get this right eventually... I'm probably like a new parent - overly paranoid, lol.
