Dinky-Blinky
On the 17 may 2016. It was a normal day. Little did I know my life was going to change. I got a phone call from a friend asking if I knew anyone would rehome two female bearded dragons in despert need of some TLC. Me and my partner decided we would have them.
We went to collect them from a small apartment, they were skin and bones and lifeless, sharing a viv that was dirty and full of poo. There wasnt any heat lamp or uv light. Both were very snappy and didnt like to be handled. One was thought to have been blind in one eye and tip of her tail was missing, also one of her claws in missing, the other was a lot thinner and couldnt even lift her head. We called them Dinky and Blinky.
After a few weeks Blinky's eye started weeping, I rushed her to the vets it turned out it was just from where she hadnt shedding fully in the past. Her eye is much better now although not 100%.
After 3 months of love and attention both Blinky and Dinky are now up to a healthy weight and are so friendly.
We did try to seperate them, as we were advised to by other dragon owners, but once split up they refused to eat and began to snap and show agression towards us. As soon as they were put back together they were the most placid dragons ever and eating fine.
They both love to eat their fruit, veg, and anything thats moves.
They are both so different and have their own little personalities.
Blinky is the bouncy one and Dinky will happily sit basking under the lamp.
Dinky will sit with you and have cuddles unlike Blinky who will sit for a few min before wanting to explore the floor and look out the window and watch the world go by.
